To launch the project, the partners came together at the Institute for General Practice (IAM) at the Medical Faculty of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. The meeting at the lead institution served to get to know one another and to hold a first exchange about the joint work.
Getting to know one another and sharing ideas
The focus was on bringing together in person the people involved from study management, the study centres and the methodological support. Who would contribute where in future was discussed, as were the mutual expectations of the collaboration. Alongside general project matters, the aim was to establish a shared understanding of the goals and the next steps.
Such personal encounters at the outset carry a multicentre project throughout its entire duration: they create the basis of trust on which later coordination between the sites is built. With the meeting at the IAM, the foundation for the further collaboration was laid.
